This topic is the first material we need to learn in this course. It is important to learn due to the fact that proper names have a great support in building a fiction. Proper names are a type of proper noun. That is why we have to understand first what is meant by proper nouns - what is the differences between common nouns and proper nouns. This article is talking about strategies for translating proper names. By reading this, you are guided to understand the definition of proper names, the issue of their translation, and strategies for translating them. There are a number of strategies, which you can find them in the examples taken from novels and their explanation. Read and comprehend the content so that you will find yourself easy in translating proper names.
This second article gives you elaboration on types of proper names and ways to translate them. There are five categories of type name, and each category is explained well in this article. In addition to that, a number of ways to translate them are also presented with examples of English proper names that are translated into Persian. This article is easy to read and is fruitful to enrich your knowledge of translation.
