During this lesson, students will study the basics of translation. They will be expected to describe what translation is and any theoretical concerns related to translation after they have completed the course.

The course focuses on the IMRaD + Abstract template for journal publication, as well as an understanding of how language and structure form the necessary component elements. The students will write and develop manuscripts section by section as the weeks pass. The culture of the Western writing process, revising and editing, as well as grammar conventions, will all be explored. To explain and describe academic papers and receive feedbacks on writing, the students will use peer writing groups, peer editing/review, and peer seminar.

Introduction to American Studies aims at providing students with understanding on American Studies as a discipline, approaches used, are of studies, and research topics developed within American Studies. Students further, are able to see the uniqueness of this studies compared to other mainstreams offered in the English Department, UNS (Linguistics, Translation, and Literature).

This course is intended to develop student's understanding and appreciation of literary works, especially novel and fiction. Students will read  independently six books of fictions  of different levels from simplified, abridged to original versions. Students will also write a report on the novel / fictions they read regarding plot, theme, characters, setting and other literary elements. 

This course introduces students with an overview of similar and different ways of communication endeavor between people across culture. Students will learn a way of thinking and living which are influenced by  a set of values, norms, and beliefs taught and reinforced by others in the same culture through unwritten and written principles and laws. Students are also encouraged to recognize how religion, geography, race and ethnicity affects one's culture, behavior and style of communication and could create cultural clashes which are caused by a result of individual narrowing belief to understand different culture.

Introduction to Drama aims at giving the basic knowledge of what drama is and the early development of drama from Old Greek drama until the modern British and American drama. Furthermore, by exploring the elements of drama the students are asked to comprehend a one act play by having a drama production to be played on stage.

This class intended to give an understanding of English prose, from the development of prose, the elements of prose or fiction, to reading some canon and popular prose.

This subject is intended to see the student's capability to understand the basic elements of literary works; character, point of view, setting, theme, message, atmosphere, and plot structure from several English novels they read. 

Introduction to Poetry aims at giving the basic knowledge of what poetry is and the basic theory of English poetry. By taking part in this course, students will also learn about analyzing poetry, identifying and discussing the elements of poetry, and appreciating poetry.

This course discusses the concept of the internal structure of the words and the study of word formations in English.
